AVP CELTIC BIO

This 1-1 scale bio was sculpted in a two part epoxy resin as an alternative to clay so that I could keep coming back to the design as it was sculpted over a much longer period. Screen reference was lacking on this and I wanted to create the most accurate version out there so I needed a material that wouldn’t dry out and crack, This allowed me to also sand down the original and also glue and add found objects that I researched like the Yo – Yo nose and glue pot lid cheek spikes.

I started out with an original Predator 1 Bio helmet for a base as this would give me the dimensions and scale. I then started to add the base detail using card and ABS templates. This also helped me with the symmetry to get the Bio looking right and even on both sides.

Once I was happy with the base detail I then added layer by layer of the epoxy and sculpted without tools using only my fingers. This helmet was a labor of love that I kept coming back to until I got the look just right.

Once the sculpt was done I then sanded and primed ready for the Black under coat which would create a good base to then dry brush aluminum metallic paints over. Mirrored lenses were then placed in and the whole Bio was sealed and clear lacquered.

I have also created a number of Predator "Lost Hunter" bios - email me for pics.

"I may not be a fan of the movies, but when i saw this, my jaw dropped. There is so much detail and time put into this, im so suprised that it hasnt gotten a bit more attention!" Deviouslyartistic.com

MDF tusks alongside pill case lids

MDF was used here for the wheel as well as rubber door stoppers

Marker lid parts and Epoxy were combined to make this unique section on the temple

Over all face now taking form, you can see the layers built up around the cheeks to create steps
